CONCIOUSNESS INITIATIVES

Ojasvini Seva Society has previously organized several workshops to impart key vocational and soft skills to underprivileged communities and augment employment opportunities.

These workshops were organised in tandem with industry experts and institutions to provide professionals a forum to disseminate information and democratize learning opportunities. These sessions have been in the fields of entrepreneurship, marketing, technical support, sewing, knitting, electricals, plumbing, etc.

In addition to skill development workshops, Ojasvini Seva Society has actively organized various seminars and sessions to sensitize youth on pertinent subjects like mental health, sanitization &hygiene, drug addiction, road safety, disease prevention, etc. These interventions have been instituted across the country, notably in Delhi, Chhattisgarh, and Rajasthan through partnerships with academic institutions and agencies.
We believe that social agencies must facilitate government’s efforts and amplify awareness about new schemes introduced for the greater benefit of our country’s citizens. Hence, we also actively organize different sessions to sensitize public about new policies, programs, and regulations which they can avail. Our engagements are facilitated by collaborations with other NGOs, schools, institutes, SHG, CBOs, FBOs, colleges, and volunteers.

TARGETED SUSTENANCE ENGAGEMENTS

We recognise the importance of mitigating the employment gap which is prevalent among the marginalised communities.
Considering the foregoing, Ojasvini Seva Society has spearheaded multiple pilot projects on self-employment linked to the skill development vision of the Government of India across the country.
So far, we have affected 10,000+ lives through skill development programmes and interventions across the country. We have 25+ skill development centres which actively mobilise marginalised groups, facilitate them in forming SHG’s, connect them with hiring agencies, and provide them with an ed to end placement and training service.

Our skill centres impart training in vocational skills like tailoring, plumbing, electricals, carpentry, beauty services, painting, and customer service. We provide skilling to marginalised groups and help them build pertinent skills ranging from leadership, inter-personal, analytical, and vocational capabilities.

OjasviniSeva Society is also raising funds from various Government schemes and CSR bodies to impart skill development training on various sectors. We are working relentlessly to achieve the country’s MDG (Millennium Development Goal) through livelihood projects by providing skill development training among the unskilled youth.

HERITAGE PRESERVATION

Culture plays an important role in the development of any nation. It represents a set of shared attitudes, values, goals and practices. Culture and creativity manifest themselves in almost all economic, social and other activities. A country as diverse as India is symbolized by the plurality of its culture. India has one of the world’s largest collections of songs, music, dance, theatre, folk traditions, performing arts, rites and rituals, paintings and writings.

Ojasvini Seva Society has organized several cultural engagements in partnership with local multilateral agencies, institutions and mobilised youth to raise awareness about regional cultures. The organization actively mobilises volunteers and has instituted committees at the state and district level to regularly organize programs at a monthly basis. Over the next few years, our vision is to establish heritage centres in each state across the country

Empowering women must be a united approach, a cause that requires continued attention and stewardship by all. We need to augment our efforts for empowering women and enhance their progress. The organization has conducted various programmes and workshops on women empowerment. We actively help mobilise women and support them in forming SHG’s to render them self sufficiency and means to a good livelihood.

FETTLE ENCAMPMENTS

Each year, Ojasvini Seva Society organises special health camps to provide healthcare services to meet the immediate health care needs of the marginalized community in remote rural areas and slums through standalone camps. Customized health camps are organized extensively across the country offering comprehensive health services – curative, preventive, and promotive, to a large number of people in selected intervention areas.

UPSKILLING CENTRES

“The task of the modern educator is not to cut down jungles, but to irrigate desserts”

Ojasvini Seva Society gives tribute to the teachers every year for their excellent work towards the education and society. Teachers' Day is now one of the occasions that are looked forward by the teachers and students alike as on this occasion it’s not only when teachers are praised but also around various schools students dress up as a representation of their teachers and take various lectures that are assigned to the teachers they represent.
As the day passes the students perform the regular activities that are performed by the teachers. On this day students realize what it means to be a teacher and what it means to control the future of several students in their classes and also teachers are reminded what it felt like when they were the students.

Apart from the fun aspect of the day it is also a day when one can look back, admire and get inspired by Dr. Radhakrishnan, a small town cunning boy, who grew up to become one of the most respected politicians in the history of democracy of India.

To promote quality education organization initiates teachers training programs with the help of retired professors and school teachers.

BIODIVERSITY CONSERVATION

Every year Ojasvini Seva Society conducts programs to incentivise and educate people on environment conservation and sustainable practices. Several studies are published by the organization on an annual basis. We also collaborate with local schools in distributing free literature and delivering special lectures on the subject.

IEC ENGAGEMENTS

Education is the right of every citizen but still there is a lot to do on the field of education at rural and slum areas. Ojasvini Seva Society takes several initiatives to educate underprivileged children. Organization is planning to make a committee of retired teachers and others to conduct pro bono sessions for our camps across the country.

MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS

Mental health is a severely neglected subject. However, it is of utmost importance for the well-being of an individual. The organization plans to institute a hotline service for any individual to call and seek help. We have also partnered with psychologists and therapists and have been providing consultations for patients of trauma and psychological problems.
